Dyersville came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning with 2 runs on 3 hits. Craig Biggio led off the inning for Dyersville when he hit a single. Gary Matthews Jr next to the plate and he lined a base-hit. Matthews Jr took second on the throw. Jeromy Burnitz then stroked a single, and an error was also committed, resulting in an exciting win for Dyersville and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Dyersville rapped out 9 hits for the afternoon. Scott Williamson(2-2) went 2/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the victory. Victor Santos(0-6) absorbed the loss in relief. 'What a game!,' Williamson said afterward. 'When we won it I almost couldn't believe it!'
